ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯ ಬೇಗೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ನಾವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಬೀಸಣಿಗೆ, ಎಸಿಗಳ ಮೊರೆ ಹೊಗುವುದು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ. ಆದರೆ ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯ ಬೇಗೆ ವಾಸ್ತವದಲ್ಲಿ ತೀವ್ರಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ನಾವು ಯಾವ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರಣರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಮಹಿಳೆಯೊಬ್ಬರು ತೋರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಬಸಿಲಿನ ಝಳದ ನಡುವೆಯೇ ಮರದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ನಿಂತಿರುವ ಈ ಮಹಿಳೆ, ನೆತ್ತಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನಿದ್ದ ವೇಳೆ ಹಾಗೂ ನೆತ್ತಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮರದ ಕವಚವಿದ್ದಾಗ ತಾಪಮಾನದ ಅನುಭವದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗುವ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸಗಳನ್ನು ಊಷ್ಣಮಾಪಕ ಹಿಡಿದು ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ನೆತ್ತಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನಿದ್ದಾಗ 40 ಡಿಗ್ರಿಯಷ್ಟಿರುವ ತಾಪಮಾನ ಆಕೆ ಮರದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಲೇ 27 ಡಿಗ್ರಿಗೆ ಕುಸಿಯುತ್ತದೆ. ತಾಪಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗುವ ಈ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸವು ಮರಗಳ ಮಹತ್ವ ಏನೆಂದು ಸಾರಿ ಹೇಳುವಂತಿದೆ.

I would agree that this is the case right now but starting June, Delhi & many parts of northern India are affected by the ‘wet bulb effect’ wherein there’s not much difference between the shady & non shady parts of a cityscape.
