ಯುಎಸ್‌ ನ ಹೈಪರ್‌ ಮಾರ್ಕೆಟ್‌ ಗಳ ಸರಣಿ ವಾಲ್ಮಾರ್ಟ್, ಹಿಂದೂ ದೇವರಾದ ಗಣೇಶನ ಫೋಟೋ ಇರುವ ಚಪ್ಪಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ಯಾಂಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರಾಟ ಮಾಡಲು ಮುಂದಾಗುವ ಮೂಲಕ ತೀವ್ರ ಆಕ್ರೋಶಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಹಿಂದೂ ದೇವರ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಅನುಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನೆಟ್ಟಿಗರು ಬ್ರ್ಯಾಂಡ್‌ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್‌ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ, ಬಳಕೆದಾರರು ವಾಲ್‌ಮಾರ್ಟ್‌ನ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ವೆಬ್‌ಸೈಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಮಾಡಲಾದ ಚಪ್ಪಲಿ, ಬಾಕ್ಸರ್ ಶಾರ್ಟ್ಸ್, ಪ್ಯಾಂಟಿಗಳು, ಪೈಜಾಮ ಪ್ಯಾಂಟ್‌ಗಳು, ಲೌಂಜ್ ಪ್ಯಾಂಟ್‌ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಲೀಪ್‌ವೇರ್ ಮೇಲೆ ಗಣೇಶನ ಫೋಟೋ ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಒಳ ಉಡುಪು ಮತ್ತು ಚಪ್ಪಲಿ ಸೇರಿ ಕೆಲ ಉಡುಪುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಿಂದೂ ದೇವರ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ತೀವ್ರ ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಲ್ಲದೇ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಹಿಂಪಡೆಯುವಂತೆ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಹಲವಾರು ನೆಟಿಜನ್‌ಗಳು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ ಆಕ್ರೋಶದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ವಾಲ್ಮಾರ್ಟ್ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಹಿಂದೂ ವಕೀಲರ ಗುಂಪು ‘ಇನ್‌ಸೈಟ್ ಯುಕೆ’ ಕೂಡ ಧ್ವನಿ ಎತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ವರದಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. “ಈ ಘಟನೆ ಹಿಂದೂ ಸಮುದಾಯವನ್ನು ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿ ಘಾಸಿಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಬರೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
